Latest Statics Ingame | MP40 SMG Ingame | Want to join the team?

Welcome to another update! Our static modelers are working at a great pace and we have a bunch more to show off this week, this time from both Smig and [BG]Geronimo|Ger. The scenes, as usual, were made by Benseras. We also have another firearm to show off.

Latest Statics Ingame
First up, we have some large crates. You can expect to see these liberally sprinkled throughout our maps.

Next up is a lumber pile, an individual log, and some small boxes. All will make great cover to lie prone behind and give someone a nasty surprise.

Also we have the bane of all tank drivers, and friend to the infantry: Dragon's Teeth. Expect to see these at strategic crossroads to slow down tanks and other ground vehicles, helping give infantry a fighting chance.

MP40 SMG Ingame
Last, but certainly not least, we have a new firearm ingame that has its own custom animations and sounds, the MP-40! Some historical data about the MP-40:

Maschinenpistole 40

Caliber: 9mm
Length: 32.75in (832mm) stock extended
Weight: 9lb (4.14kg)
Barrel: Six grooves, right hand twist
Feed System: 32 round box magazine
System of Operation: Blowback
Rate of Fire: 500 RPM
Muzzle Velocity: 365 MPS

In 1938 the German Army issued specifications for a new submachine gun using battlefield experience gained during the Spanish Civil War. The groundbreaking design known as the MP38 had no wood anywhere in its construction and had a folding stock. Beneath the barrel was a U shaped bump that prevented damage to the barrel when firing through the gun port of an armoured vehicle and also prevented the gun from being accidentally pulled inside while shooting if the soldier lost his footing. It was a great success though they needed a weapon easier to mass produce. The MP38 was redesigned to make maximum use of stampings and welded parts. The primary changes were that the body was now made from a stamped sheet of steel, formed and welded; the magazine housing was now ribbed; and the body top was now plain instead of ribbed. The new MP40 was ready to replace the MP38 as the standard submachine gun.

Want to join the team?
We are still looking for all kinds of talented modders to join our team, especially vehicle skinners and sound engineers, as we have a lot of vehicles waiting to be skinned and weapons waiting for new sounds. As you can see our static modelers are getting many rural statics done, but we'd like to expand to urban battles, so we are going to need several more static modelers/unwrappers/skinners as urban battles will require many more objects.
