Paderborn & Villers-Bocage
Map Previews
Due for release in the forthcoming BG42 1.1 update, Paderborn
and Villers-Bocage are just two of the new maps that will be on
offer.
Paderborn
Daybreak, March 30th 1945. A US armoured column approaches the
town of Paderborn set on taking it from the defending German forces.
In the town a panzer unit, comprised of students from the 271st
Panzer Reconnaissance Training Battalion and tanks from the Tank
Replacement Battalion, sally forth to meet the attack. The battle
raged into the afternoon for over six hours before both sides
withdrew.
Can you break the stalemate? Wide open terrain broken by thick
pockets of trees and key defensive positions are your battlefield.
Get to it soldier!
Tanks across open ground.
Planes in the morning sky. Alone or in packs no-one is safe!
Villers-Bocage
June 13th 1944. The outskirts of the village of Villers-Bocage
became the setting for one of the most famous armoured engagements
of World War 2. Panzer ace Michel Wittmann single-handedly destroyed
an entire column of British armour as Montgomery prepared to attack
Caen.
BG42 returns to Villers-Bocage and gives players the chance to
reverse the British defeat or replicate Wittmann's victory.
The British prepare
to advance into the Bocage while Wittmann aboard his Tiger is
on the prowl.
