Village House and Stone Wall Statics Ingame | The Team Continues to Grow

Welcome today to another update for Battlegroup2, the World War 2 mod for Battlefield 2, and our forthcoming Eastern Front release.

We are still working on completing our statics set and, as you can see, we are making some very good progress. Smig has finished his Village House after many long hours and it includes a detailed interior (and internal lightmapping). He has also included a Low Stone Wall; this is in sections that link up so it can be made as long as necessary. Expect to see in the future a destroyed version of the Village House along with many more statics.

In this news we'd also like to welcome several new members of BG2 who are already involved in our work.

The Team Continues to Grow
Benseras has joined to help out in our mapping department; his work can be seen in our last few updates, and this one.

We'd also like to extend overdue welcomes to Blackice, modeler/unwrapper, and Fihell, player modeler/unwrapper/skinner. Both are working on very important projects we'll be showing off sometime in the future.

Nimrod6, a vehicle and static modeler/unwrapper/skinner, also joins us, so expect his work to be shown off in an update soon.

SethSoldier recently joined us as a handweapons and plane modeler/unwrapper/skinner, again expect to see his work soon as well.

Finally we'd like to welcome our newest member, Edke who is also a vehicle modeler/unwrapper.

Our team is growing but we are still searching for some good modelers, especially for statics and player models; skinners, especially those that work on statics, ground vehicles, and planes; and sound engineers; in order to bring us the variety we need for our first release. As always we're willing to take very talented people in other areas of modding as well. So if you think you are good and have ambitions to work in our team, or just want to learn more about Battlegroup2, please visit our forum at www.battlegroup42forum.com.

More Russian Buildings Ingame

Hello and welcome to another Battlegroup2 update. Continuing the theme of last week’s update, we have a couple more statics from Geronimo[Ger] to show.

They are an old wooden shed and a firewood stack. These will offer more cover for infantry on the large open maps of the Eastern front. There will also be an open version of the shed for infantry to hide in.

We will show more statics in the next news release, both buildings and smaller items. Meanwhile we are looking for help in our skinning and mapping departments so if you think you've got what it takes, stop by our recruitment forums here: http://battlegroup42forum.com/viewforum.php?f=52. Not a skinner or a mapper? Don't despair, if you’re very talented then we'll consider you too as we're always looking for good modders.

WW2 Russian Buildings Ingame!

Although this is the first news release in a couple of months from Battlegroup2 we have not been idle. In fact, a lot of work has been done concentrating on modelling, skinning and importing statics into BF2. We now have more than 20 statics ingame, and we would like to show you the first of them today. Here we show four created for our Eastern Front release (models by Geronimo|Ger, mapping by Benseras).

A destroyed Russian farmhouse and a typical Russian village fence:

A cow shed:

And a barn:

We also include an atmospheric image showing all four in position on a Russian map:

We will show many more over the next few weeks.

We are moving ahead fast on our Eastern Front release but are still looking for talented new members, particularly skinners and mappers. If you would like to join a leading WW2 mod, and particularly if you have an interest in the Russian front, please drop by our forums at www.battlegroup42forum.com.
