The BattleGroup42 Mod 0.7 Beta is now available
for download. The vehicle
pages have the latest additions although details are currently
scarce.
This is the first time Red Twilight models
take to the battlefield under the BattleGroup42 banner. The
Russian and German equipment they've added offers a new dimension
to the Eastern Front.
The infamous and fearsome Flak36 ("88") with it's
quad legged fixed position offers the German forces both anti-aircraft
and anti-tank capabilities. Meanwhile the Zis-2 anti-tank
and Zis-3 field guns provide the Russian forces with some
very handy static defences of their own.
To counter the German defences the Russian
armoured force is supplimented by the KV-1s heavy tank which
is faster than the KV-1 and better armoured than the T-34/76.
German troops now get access to the Opel Blitz truck which,
combined with an armoured escort, will provide a quick way
of bringing infantry to the front lines.
Both Russian SU-100 and German Hetzer tank destroyers make
their debut. Both have fearsome armament emploed in very different
chassis.
The anti-armour theme continues with DaCrappers
latest hotly anticipated models, the Sherman Firefly and Achillies
IIc tank destroyer. Finally the British get the capability
to fight back against the onslaught of German heavy armour.
To cap it all there is some help for the
beleaguered tanker, grenade damage has been reduced against
armoured targets!
Our goals remain great teamplay combined
with historical accuracy. BattleGroup42 0.7 Beta bolsters
existing forces, refines some of the game play and gives mappers
the chance to develop fantasic new scenarios..
