Huertgen Forest | WARNING! This is a Hard-Hat Area

Huertgen Forest
Direct confrontation has always been a hallmark of this great map. Infantry and armour clashing in the depths of the forest, launching frontal assaults and sneeky ambushes on the unwary. However, not happy to rest on our laurels, Huertgen has received a proper update. There's a second river crossing, new village and totally revised sounds. Expect cross-river insurgence and sweeping counter attacks all backed by the sounds of war!

The full Huertgen Forest visual preview can be found here. Here's a glimpse :

Screenshot Thread on fpscentral
Some of you may have noticed various members of the team have been posting in-game screenshots from our 1.0 testing on our forums. If not you're missing some nice pix. Recently Cavesloth has been adding many renders to show all the various completely reworked skins, many of which have not been seen in our news reports. Also there are a number of questions answered later in the thread for players interested in content for BG42 1.0!

The thread is definitely not 56k friendly (sorry guys) and can be found at our FPSCentral forum. Here are some examples lifted from the thread :

Wacht Am Rhein - It's been snowing in Europe Again! | Taiho - Imperial Japanese Carrier Steams into Battle | Artillery Batteries In-game | Axis Incoming!

Wacht Am Rhein - It's been snowing in Europe Again!
December 1944 saw the Germans mount a counter-offensive, called Operation Autumn Mist, into the face of the unsuspecting US defenders. Wacht Am Rhein is one of the many hard fought battles of that period which became known as the Battle of the Bulge. Here the two sides meet head-on, armour rolling through the mists, infantry scuttling between the trees. Patience is a virtue here where there is a tank round every corner and an infantryman behind every tree.

For all the pictures see our our maps WIP page.

Taiho - Imperial Japanese Carrier Steams into Battle
These are the first in-game shots of the Imperial Japanese Navy Aircraft Carrier Taiho. The BG42 team are very pleased to have this Operation Anubis built ship in the mod and ready to launch waves of aircraft at the enemy fleet in 1.0.

Artillery Batteries In-game
There has been quite a bit of discussion about artillery batteries on our public forums. True to form our coders have been busy turning ideas into reality and have done us proud once again. The batteries shown in these pictures (additional pix on our latest WIP page) are currently undergoing beta testing as we work on balancing our maps. As you can imagine the effects are something to behold!

Axis Incoming!
Japanese air attack, German ground assault, the Axis are on the move! These shots show our new Japanese B5N Kate torpedo bomber model resplendant in its latest coat of paint to match that of the reskinned A6M2 Zero fighter. For the Germans the latest skins have all made it in-game. Here the late-war Panther G motors for the front while a full Kubelwagon races between trouble spots. Further images are available on our latest WIP page.
