"We have been quiet at BattleGroup42 but very busy. We are planning two major releases in the near future aimed at adding the correct historical tanks into each map, courtesy of our modellers DaCrapper and Gimli. They will concentrate initially on the early war maps then on the later war maps. For the first release we have built three versions of the Panzer III - the main German tank of the first half of the war.

The pictures show a Panzer III Model J in Tobruk (1941, short 50mm gun), a Panzer III J Special in El Alamein and Kharkov (1942, long 50mm gun) and a Panzer III M in Kursk (1943, long 50mm gun and extra spaced armour covering the front of the turret and hull). Original Panzer III M model by DaCrapper and PvtSchulz, coding and desert skin by DaCrapper; conversion to model J and J Special by Panzaman; Russia skin by Seven."

AJ has been helping behind the scenes gathering much of the historical info we've been after. Amazingly much of the evidence is first-hand adding to his own knowledge gained as self-confessed "Military History buff".
