BattleGroup42 & Operation Anubis | Modeltastic WIP Update

BattleGroup42 & Operation Anubis
The BG42 team are pleased to announce a tie-in with the Operation Anubis mod.
What does this mean? The Operation Anubis team have very kindly allowed the BG42 team access to their entire-inventory of models covering everything from tanks to planes and boats in the late WW2 period. In return we aim to bring all the relevant models we can into BG42 so their work gets the recognition it deserves. We're particularily excited by the ships and hope many will fit into the Pacific battles of late WW2.

Operation Anubis were founded to explore what would have happened if World War 2 had not ended in 1945 and the atomic bombs were never dropped. For more information visit the Operation Anubis Website.

Modeltastic WIP Update
February and March have been busy months for the team, so much so we have a second major WIP update this month! Look out for many of the models in BG42 Vn. 1.0.

ClickTeam Installer vs McAfee AntiVirus

Someone must have been listening at McAfee. Todays 4341 DAT update resolves the issue it had with the ClickTeam installer so that executable files made with InstallCreator will not longer be detected as a possible Trojan and deleted.

So get the latest update for your McAfee VirusScan now!

BG42 ClickTeam Installer | Latest Work In Progess hints at Vn 1.0!

Some users have had problems with the most recently updated AntiVirus programs finding a Trojan in BattleGroup42 installation executables. This is related to the program used to build the client versions called ClickTeam Install Creator also used by a number of other Battlefield 1942 Mods. ClickTeam have made a statement:

McAfee False Alarm
A recent virus definition update for the McAfee virus scanner has incorrectly tagged Install Creator/Install Creator Pro created EXE as virus infected.

This is completely a false alarm.

Clickteam has communicated with McAfee about the false alarm and they have said they would look into this.

If you would like to visit or confirm this with McAfee
They are here: http://www.mcafee.com/

I would encourage anyone with using Install Creator to contact them and ask them to correct this false alarm in a timely manor.

Thank you,

Clickteam

We understand this may effect Norton as well as McAfee AntiVirus users. Visit the ClickTeam site for further updates on this situation.

On a happier note we have a raft of great work being produced with models such as the US M8 Greyhound scout car, M18 Hellcat tank-destroyer and M24 Chaffee light tank. For a complete update have a look at our latest Work In Progress page.

On Operation Citadel the revised Stug IIIG gets into a fire-fight while the IL-2 patrols the skies.

We also pleased to announce the inclusion on a new converted community map "Gavutu Islands" (by Truspe). This Pacific battle has the US forces landing on Gavutu Islands in a battle where good use of air, land and sea are all vital for victory! :

0.98 This Friday!!! & Coding Breakthrough!
Yes indeed BattleGroup42 0.98 will be released this Friday 12th March 2004!

BG42 0.98 is all about completely integrating the changes introduced in the 1.6 patch for Battlefield 1942. As such it concentrates on skins, code and equipment that make that integration possible. This will bring BG42 right up-to-date and makes great use of DICE's latest work.

Is that all? Well no as we've decided to slot in a few other minor tweaks. The Bren LMG has been added for the Commonwealth infantry and to vehicles mounts on the Lynx and Sexton. In addition hugely improved skins can be found on the Matilda and Crusader III with the latter also benefitting from a twin Lewis Gun AA mount for the first time.

An age old problem for all bf1942 mods has been the inability to successfully code fully-articulate towable vehicles. Following a brain storming session Suhren has converted inspiration into reality and finally managed to code a working, fully-articulate joint which not only allows the two connecting vehicles the correctly follow the terrain but also has the ability to deploy towed equipment! Want the full details? Visit this Coding Breakthrough: Towable Artillery thread on our forums.
